NLC was incorporated in 2003 for the purpose of being the corporate entity to acquire a license of occupation in Galiano Bay. Kenneth (Ken) Selezinka is the director and sole shareholder of NLC, who was introduced to Galiano Bay in Nootka Sound when he became a shareholder of a floating fishing resort in the 1990's.

NLC acquired the license of occupation through a re-instatement process by the Province of British Columbia., ‘Land and Water British Columbia’ in December 2003. A license that includes a thirty year lease to a quality sheltered bay of this size is not only rare but, simply stated, not available. Historically, licenses are maintained on crown tenures by forest companies, or offered by the government to First Nations in the interests of advancing outstanding land claims. We are truly fortunate to have access to this location.

Following the successful re-instatement of the License of Occupation, NLC pursued numerous planning initiatives and applications with Land & Water B.C.

The ability to provide resort services to Nootka Sound has been a lengthy and comprehensive process requiring the expertise of many consultants over several years. It has involved extensive meetings, discussions and volumes of correspondence with various legal, accounting, engineering, planning, and designing professionals specialized in the resort and recreation industry. NLC is pleased to announce that we have successfully been approved with all required licenses, permits and registrations that will allow development of this fantastic water site.
